About Us - well, really about why I started this...
My love for old and new photographs came from my grandmother (aka Mama) who absolutely loved taking photos of her family and friends. Growing up, my sister and I looked forward to Saturday night sleepovers at Mama’s house, especially when she would bring us to pick up her newly developed photos! Mama would open the folding table in her den, lay the photos out, pick out the “keepers,” and then add them to a photo album—always in chronological order. Mama labeled each album with the year, using her label maker.
Mama's Photo Albums
As I got older, I would look forward to taking out those albums when I visited Mama. At every family gathering or holiday, the albums would come out and we would reminisce. Sometimes we would laugh and sometimes we would cry. I can’t even begin to count how many times we looked through all those albums—and there are over 100!
Of Mama’s five grandchildren, I was the one to inherit the albums. Perhaps because I am the oldest… but I like to think it is because I was her favorite.
To be sure my cousins could look back on all the wonderful memories at any time, I scanned each photo and shared the digitized pictures with them. Which led to the idea of providing this service for others. I hope you find it as valuable as we all did!
